Solah shringaar is mentioned in ancient vedic texts. These 16 adornments beautify women from head to toe. Solah Shringar or sixteen embellishments comprises of necklaces, ear-rings, Gajra, finger-rings, bangles, armlets, bindi, waistbands, Payal, kajal, toe-rings, henna, nose-ring, perfume,vermillion(sindoor) ,and Maang tika.

As per scientific theories these sixteen embellishments provides good health and mind to the wearer.

1. Ear-ring provides acupressure to ear lobes.

2. Nose ring is considered auspicious and it is seen that women who get their nose pierced have to bear less pain during childbirth.

3. Bangles are said to increase blood circulation

4. Toe rings regularize the woman’s menstrual cycle and provides acupressure to the reproductive organ as well.

5. Finger ring – it is being believed that Frequent metallic friction is good for the mind and health of the wearers.

6. Necklaces or mangalsutra are worn to control blood pressure levels and regulate the flow of blood.

7. Waistbands are generally worn as they are considered to prevent fat saturation in and around the waist area
