The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which is also termed as the “Global Goals”, were set by United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, hunger, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all the Nations work cordially to achieve these goals so as to enjoy peace and prosperity.

It was commenced in 2015 and will end by 2030. UNSDG succeeded MDG i.e., Millennium Development Goals which comprised of 8 goals and was started in 2005 and ended in 2015 thus for a duration of 10 years (2000-2015).

UN SDG comprises of 17 Goals

  1.       No Poverty
  2.       No Hunger
  3.       Good Health
  4.       Quality Education
  5.       Gender Equality
  6.       Clean water and sanitation
  7.       Affordable and clean energy
  8.       Decent work and economic growth
  9.       Industry innovation and infrastructure
  10.       Reduced Inequalities
  11.       Sustainable cities and communities
  12.       Responsible consumption and production
  13.       Climate Action
  14.       Life below water
  15.       Life on Land
  16.       Peace, Justice and Strong Institution
  17.       Partnership for the goals

These goals are super important and are seen frequently in newspapers and media. It seems difficult to memorize but with short tricks and mnemonics, we can.

Let’s try to memorize. Just repeat it a couple of times and SDG goals will be at your fingertips.
