Government is a structure which facilitates the functioning of governance. Government can be Republic or monarchic. In Republic the decision-making power is in the hands of the citizens of the country. They choose their representatives for decision making whereas in Monarchy the head of the state , generally king or queen are the decision makers of the society.
India has republic government. There are 3 organs of government which comprises of Executive, legislative and judiciary.
Governance is a process, intended to bring in Accountability, Responsiveness, Stability, people’s participation, etc
It is intended with the welfare of the society. It is carried through the participation of state, civil society, NGOs, institutions, cooperatives etc.
Then what is good governance?
If governance is based upon the notion of legitimacy, welfare oriented, citizen centric approach leading to effective administration then it is called as Good Governance.
